Sal VitoPizza

Our Story

Same recipes. Same counter. Next chapter.

It started in 1980. The Bonfanti family opened Vito's Pizza in Cherry Hill with a handful of recipes brought from home and a pretty simple idea — feed the neighborhood the way you'd feed your own kitchen table.

A few years later, they moved to the Ritz Center on Haddonfield-Berlin Rd in Voorhees, and Sal Vito Pizza @ The Ritz became a fixture. Little league teams after games. Friday nights when nobody felt like cooking. Cannoli on Sunday. The kids who grew up on the meatball sliders came back with their own kids.

Forty years in, the shop earned seven straight years as a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite (2017–2023) — an award you don't get from marketing dollars. You get it because thousands of neighbors keep saying "yeah, that's the spot."

The new chapter.

In 2026, the shop passed to new ownership under James "Jimmy" Kennealy. Jimmy grew up on this pizza. When the opportunity came to keep Sal Vito going for the next generation of South Jersey families, he wasn't going to let it become something else.

Nothing that matters is changing. The sauce recipe. The dough. The team behind the counter. The BYOB dining room. The Sicilian slice that's been the same since Reagan was president.

What is changing: a little more energy, cleaner online ordering, a proper catering operation, and a website that finally does the food justice. Same shop, sharper edges.

To our longtime regulars — thank you. You're the reason there's a next chapter to write. Come say hi.

Come taste 40 years of Voorhees.
